KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Digital Creative to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

We link new ideas and opportunities with expertise, markets and finance through our network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. From agri-food to autonomous systems and from energy to design, KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries. Connecting with KTN can lead to potential partners, horizon-expanding events and innovation insights relevant to your needs.

The Creative Pioneers Challenge – Great Minds Wanted

The IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising), in partnership with The Metro and Creative Skillset, is currently running the Creative Pioneers Challenge  – a nationwide search for digital natives and creative entrepreneurs.

They are offering up to 300 people in the UK help to find work in the creative industries.

Opportunities available include internships and apprenticeships, being offered by 100 creative and digital media businesses. If you are ready to start your own business instead, they also want to put you in touch with the people who can help make your business fly.

Applicants can apply to one of these 3 categories:

CAN DO: For fearless advocates of bright ideas and those who can carefully balance creative flair with commercial canniness. You don't need a track record but should be imaginatively minded and a team player with the guts to grab opportunities and innovate tomorrow.

CAN-CODE: For the tinkerers of the technical and the minds that love to find out how it all works. Can-Codes are anything from those who have dabbled with code to digital whizz-kids. If you've got your own website, blog or you just love reading Wired, then you could be a future leader of the digital revolution.

CAN-START: For the self-reliant self-starters who live and breathe determination. If you've got buckets of entrepreneurial spirit and you think you're onto a good thing, this Challenge is the forum to present your ideas. This Challenge is looking to help you make the content and platforms of tomorrow.

The deadline for applying is noon on Friday 27 April 2012, so don’t delay!
