The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

Register now for the International Festival of Business 2016 - your global marketplace awaits you

KTN are proud to announce that we are delivery partners for the International Festival for Business 2016 (IFB2016), which will take place in Liverpool from 13th June to 1st July. 
 
IFB2016 is a global marketplace for creating connections and will bring together thousands of businesses from around the world for three weeks of events, networking and deal-making. Building on the success of the inaugural festival in 2014, which attracted 70,000 attendees and created an estimated £280 million worth of investment and deals, IFB2016 will be the biggest event of its kind this year.

IFB2016’s ‘Meet Your Future Deal’ programme will also offer companies taking part over 6,000 face-to-face meetings with potential new customers, suppliers, innovation and technology partners and investors.
 
There will also be 1,000 appointments with experts as part of the ‘Meet Your Specialist Advisor’ programme. Specialists from a number of world-leading organisations will take delegates through each step of the export or business growth journey, providing bespoke advice that will help companies make the most of IFB2016’s opportunities. Specialist advice ranges from market research to tax, the tender process to logistics and banking to legal.
 
Key events during the festival include the International Business and Diplomatic Exchange (IBDE) Global Economic Forum 2016, the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe (COBCOE) Make Europe Work Trade Conference and UKTI’s International Opportunities events.
 
Key Themes
 
Each week, the IFB2016 programme will focus on a key sector-based theme: manufacturing, creative and digital, and energy and environment. With more than 80 notable events taking place during the festival, delegates will be able to access expert speakers and attend specialist events enabling them to connect with businesses in their sectors from across the globe.
 
Manufacturing Week: Monday 13 June to Sunday 19 June 2016
 
Britain’s manufacturing base employs 2.6 million people, accounting for half of all UK exports. Miracle materials and ‘Best of British’ advanced engineering showcases will take centre stage in front of a global audience during IFB2016’s Manufacturing Week. 
 
Energy and Environment Week: Monday 20 to Sunday 26 June 2016
 
Focusing on the global challenges and opportunities available in this fast-growing and rapidly changing sector, IFB2016’s Energy and Environment Week will include a number of high-profile events designed to explore the clean and green alternatives and technologies.
These include the International Maritime Trade Conference, E2 for Industry’s Energy Efficiency Platform for The Industrial Sector, and the Insitution of Mechanical Engineers (IMECHE) Operational Excellence in Engineering event. UKTI will also be holding a number of events to outline international opportunities in renewable energy, nuclear energy and oil and gas. 
 
Creative and Digital Week: Sunday 26 June to Friday 1 July 2016
 
With one of the largest and most diverse creative and digital sectors in the world, the UK is home to global leaders in advertising, music, fashion, TV, film, design, digital technology, software development and gaming. IFB2016’s Creative and Digital Week will bring together leading voices in the sector from across the world to present an inspiring week of creative and digital events. Events will showcase some of the world’s most forward-thinking and inspiring creative industries and provide a great platform for ideas to be shared and deals to be done. Key events include the World Broadband Alliance’s Wi-Fi Global Congress 2016 - the world’s leading wi-fi event, TEDX The Future: We Will Create! and the not-to-be-missed Accelerate 2016 event, which provides a unique accelerator for growth, motivation and an opportunity to connect businesses.

Businesses wishing to find out how they can take advantage of IFB2016’s 'Meet Your Future Deal 'programme should register to join the IFB2016 Business Club to ensure being kept up to date when further details of the programme are revealed in March. A range of other business services which Business Club members will be able to access will also be revealed early next month.
