The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Digital Creative to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

 

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

Digital Mission to New York

Following last year's successful trip, the third Digital Mission to New York takes place from 1st-5th November 2010 to coincide with ad:tech New York Conference and Expo, the city's largest gathering of digital marketers, where "brands, agencies, publishers and service providers come together to share, network, learn and do business".

UK Trade & InvestmentThe packed programme, massively supported by UK Trade & Investment, programme for the trip builds on the Digital Mission's momentum and relationships with New York-based entrepreneurs, VCs, agencies and digital practitioners to create a cracking line up of activities.

Activities

The mission is designed for digital media/ marketing, technology and mobile companies and agencies with an interest in online advertising and publishing.

The busy programme being planned for New York is constantly being updated, so far, it'll include:

  • Marketing and PR before, during and after the mission
  • Pre-mission briefing in London
  • "Doing Business in the US" Masterclass
  • Access to established New York digital networking events and groups
  • Investor networking breakfast/lunch
  • Evening reception at the British Consulate New York
  • Expo pass for ad:tech New York (expo, keynotes & networking)
  • Access to UKTI stand at ad:tech New York
  • Tour of NYC incubators/co-working spaces

Application process

To be considered for the Digital Mission to New York '10, you'll need to be:

  • UK headquartered
  • Innovative
  • Have a digital or mobile product, service or business model
  • 2 years trading history, or failing that, compelling early-stage fast-track potential
  • Provide references from key sponsors/industry players
  • Ready to do business in the US OR potentially attractive to US investors
  • Cover travel and accommodation costs
  • Cover event expenses (approx £600 plus VAT confirmed on acceptance)
  • Are classed as Small or Medium Sized: < 250 staff, <€50m turnover

The application process for this mission is different from previous missions. Places will be allocated to companies that meet the criteria on a first-come, first-served basis, so best to get your application as soon as possible.

The deadline for applications is Friday 1st Oct, 2010 although an early application is strongly suggested. There are up to 25 spaces available on this mission.
