KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Digital Creative to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

We link new ideas and opportunities with expertise, markets and finance through our network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. From agri-food to autonomous systems and from energy to design, KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries. Connecting with KTN can lead to potential partners, horizon-expanding events and innovation insights relevant to your needs.

Would your business like to join CI KTN's delegation to PICNIC Festival, Amsterdam, Sep 17 & 18?

Since 2006, the annual PICNIC Festival held in Amsterdam has been one of Europe’s premier events focused on innovation and creativity.

PICNIC 2102 takes place on September 17 & 18 at the EYE Film Institut in Amsterdam. This year's theme is to be “New Ownership: the shift from top down to bottom up” — with a focus on how connected technology is empowering people to drive change on a personal, business and global scale.

As part of the overall festival, PICNIC, in partnership with the Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce and Syntens, is re-launching a new and improved version of the PICNIC Crossover Marketplace exhibition aimed at highlighting promising start ups and SMEs within the European creative industries.

The Crossover Marketplace will provide a stage for companies that co-create business and social innovation solutions with partners from other (top) sectors such as Technology, Agro-Food, Water, Energy, Chemicals, Logistics and Health and Life Sciences.

As a PICNIC Crossover Marketplace festival sponsor partner, this year the Creative Industries KTN is delighted to be able to offer 5 UK start ups / SMEs the fantastic opportunity to attend this exhibition. This will enable your company not only to showcase new and innovative offerings but also engage in matchmaking with investors, incubators and companies which can provide access to capital, technology, facilities, research and advanced business coaching.

Each participating company can send 2 representatives and will receive:

  • 2 complimentary passes to the PICNIC Festival 2012
  • one exhibition booth of 1.2m with desk, internet connection, electricity
  • access to areas in the Crossover Marketplace for private meetings
  • participation in Crossover Marketplace programming: guest lectures or workshops, speed pitching session and daily networking receptions with other Festival participants
  • logo and company profile in the PICNIC Crossover Marketplace directory on the PICNIC Festival’s Web site

(Please note travel and accommodation costs are not included within this offer.)

If you are interested in attending as part of our delegation please email richard@creativeindustriesktn.org to receive an easy-to-complete application form.

Deadline for final applications: midday, Wednesday, August 15th.
