KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Digital Creative to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

We link new ideas and opportunities with expertise, markets and finance through our network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. From agri-food to autonomous systems and from energy to design, KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries. Connecting with KTN can lead to potential partners, horizon-expanding events and innovation insights relevant to your needs.

Investors and Entrepreneurs wanted for our new Investment and Business Models Theme Champion roles

Would you like to play a leading role in helping the creative industries tackle some of the big challenges and seize the exciting opportunities being driven by technology innovation?

The Creative Industries KTN is looking for two committed and experienced people to join us as ‘Theme Champions’ in roles which aim to improve the quality of the dialogue and collaborations between investors and creative industry start-ups.

The Creative Industry Finance and Investment Champion will explore ways to improve awareness amongst investors about the commercial potential of start-ups and SMEs utilising new technologies-driven business models.  So we’re looking for an individual who has significant experience in investing in start-up companies in the Creative Industries, technological or digital sectors.

The Creative Industry Business Models and Growth Champion will examine how businesses can better articulate how new and emergent business models combining technology and content will generate cash and return for investors.  Here we’re looking for an experienced entrepreneur with significant involvement in start-up companies in relevant sectors (Creative Industries, technological or digital) that have achieved outside investment.

These are part-time roles but will play an important part in leading on building relations with other organisations as well as creating and delivering exciting events and content that delivers real value for our members and other stakeholders, giving them access to material that helps drive business growth.

We are looking for people with an impressive track record of success and a network of contacts relevant to the theme. It is important that the people selected are self-starters and capable of delivering projects with the minimum of support. But just as importantly we want people who share our excitement and enthusiasm for accelerating innovation among the creative industries.

These projects will run for 17 months from 1st October 2011 – 28th February 2013.
