The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Digital Creative to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

£1.4m funding from Centre for Defence Enterprise - opportunities for creative/ digital entrepreneurs

The Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) has announced a three new themed competitions which will feature in two CDE Innovation Network events in June and July.
Open-source big data insight (£250,00 for phase 1) - looking for a prototype solution to provide an unstructured and open-source data analytics platform for defence
On 9 July 2015, the CDE Innovation Network event in London will feature two themed calls on: 
What’s inside that building? (up to £650,000 available) - looking for novel techniques to remotely provide information about the layout and situation inside a building.
Understand and interact with cyberspace (up to £500,000 available) - seeks innovative approaches to improve the way humans interact with data to allow them to understand what’s going on in cyberspace. Need to predict and understand events in cyberspace and their impact in the real world.
The three calls and two events are now posted on the Defence and Security site on connect. Please can I ask you to promote to your respective communities.
In addition, the Defence and Security team are planning to have an exhibition stand at the two CDE Innovation Network events by having an exhibition stand and we would welcome colleagues from other relevant communities to support us.
