Programme Delivery is designed to increase the speed and volume of knowledge transfer to business, so creating an increased flow of opportunities to secure a new competitive edge. We help businesses to exploit the ability of mathematics to gain rapid commercial advantage by transferring knowledge across application domains. Mechanisms of delivery are carefully designed to work successfully around the following potential obstacles:
- Many companies have relatively low levels of in-house capability in mathematical modelling and also correspondingly low awareness of the capabilities that are available externally, especially in the science base.
- Companies do not generally make strategic use of mathematical modelling, especially early in the innovation process, where the highest value can be derived. Mathematics is viewed as an operational tool rather than a strategic capability.
- The knowledge base is itself fragmented, and requires coordination in order to be more responsive to industrial requirements.
