Help navigating legal & regulatory hurdles to circular business models

Is your company’s journey towards circular business models being hampered by legal or regulatory hurdles? If so, the UK Environmental Law Association (UKELA) would like to hear from you.

  • Does competition law act as a disincentive to you collaborating with other organisations?
  • How do the WEEE and Ecodesign directives impact on your business?
  • Does intellectual property law prevent design for longevity and repair?
  • Are long-term contracts disincentivising change?
  • Are there legal or regulatory frameworks that present a barrier to circular innovation?
  • How do definitions of waste / end of life / reuse etc impact on circular innovation?
  • What problems are caused by differences in a country’s interpretation of the waste management directive?

UKELA are researching these issues in order to inform future policy.  If your project is facing legal or regulatory challenges, UKELA can become involved to look at laws, regulation and official guidance that create barriers real or perceived.
