The Climate Change Adaptation Group is part of the MBEKTN.

Climate change adaptation is a broad topic with international, national and local dimensions that when considered together have major implications for the UK's built environment.

We focus on helping the industry better understand how climate change impacts, such as increased average temperatures, changes in precipitation patterns and extreme weather events, are likely to influence the UK built environment. Our inter-disciplinary and cross sector work explores options for responding to climate change impacts through the planning, design, construction and ongoing management of the built and natural environment.

The Technology Strategy Board's 'Design for Future Climate' (D4FC) competition has been a key area of the MBEKTN's work from 2010-2014. For further information about, and outputs from, the D4FC competition please click on the relevant links below.

Please note that the project materials are available to members of the Design for Future Climate Sub-Group only. Click on the 'Join this group' button to gain the full access to the project information.
