KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from Chemistry to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

We link new ideas and opportunities with expertise, markets and finance through our network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. From agri-food to autonomous systems and from energy to design, KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries. Connecting with KTN can lead to potential partners, horizon-expanding events and innovation insights relevant to your needs.

Horizon 2020 Brokerage Event for NMBP*

*NMBP: Nanotechnologies, advanced Materials, Biotechnology and advanced manufacturing and Processing

On behalf of the Technology Strategy Board and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Chemistry Innovation would like to invite you to attend the Horizon 2020 NMBP Brokerage Event in advance of the opening of the first calls for proposals, expected to be in late 2013.

The main objectives of the event are:

  • To hear first-hand from the European Commission the content and detail of the first NMBP Call within Horizon 2020.
  • To formulate partnerships with attendees for proposals that will be submitted - as always, we want UK business and academia to work together where possible to maximise UK success.

In order to encourage the formation of partnerships, you will have the opportunity to pre-book 1:1 meetings with attendees in addition to the option of attending parallel workshops in the afternoon

If you are interested in attending this event please email TMcCarroll@tuvnel.com for the Expression of Interest (EOI) form.

Numbers for the event are strictly limited and delegates are requested to complete an EOI and return it to Tracy McCarroll (TMcCarroll@tuvnel.com) by email by Friday 6th September.  EOIs received after this date will still be considered, however there will be reduced availability of places.  The information provided within the EOI will be used by the Technology Strategy Board and BIS to ensure balanced participation at the event.

We are working in partnership with the European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry (SusChem) to share the innovation interests of participants at similar events across Europe.  If you DO NOT wish your information to be shared with the SusChem community, please notify Tracy McCarroll (TMcCarroll@tuvnel.com).
