Free event on Materials Security in Berlin

The Materials Security SIG in conjunction with the UK Science and Innovation Network are running a cross European event at the British Embassy in Berlin on 1st and 2nd December 2011. This free event is titled: 'Resources That Don't the Earth'.


This event seeks to encourage collaboration between UK and Germany as well as The Netherlands, France, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Italy and others on research and innovation in increasing EU resource efficiency and reducing dependency on raw materials and rare earths.

This symposium will identify emerging thinking, technologies and opportunities for collaboration. It aims to identify emerging best practice across Europe in four potential key areas:

• Sustainable alternatives
• Cost efficient and innovative recycling
• Resource extraction
• Reducing waste in production and design
