Since the Apple iPad is being launched this week, it is in everyone's minds here at Scottish Book Trust that things may be about to shift in interesting ways.
Does anyone have a stake or interest in the way that things will go with publishing books and content in the future? Any thoughts, opinions or concerns?
There are many questions flying about this issue, for example, how will publishing supply chains be structured? What will the uptake of digital reading devices be? How will people make money from their writing? What will the price points of ebooks be? Will publishers be able to diversify fast enough to remain the middle men or will their turf be stolen by digital upstarts?
