The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from biotechnology to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

REMINDER: CASE PhD Studentship call closes on 21st August

REMINDER: Our call for up to ten BBSRC Industrial CASE Partnership PhD Studentships for academic year 2016/17 will close on 21st August 2015.


These studentships will be awarded by KTN through a competitive process to projects of relevance to the BBSRC’s Strategic Priorities relating to the Animal, Food, Industrial Bioscience or Plant & Crops Sectors. What are CASE studentships?
CASE (Co-operative Awards in Science and Engineering) studentships involve post-graduate students studying for a PhD through research with both an academic institution and a commercial company. The student is predominantly based with the academic institution, but the research project is relevant to the needs of the industrial partner. The industrial partner is expected to provide joint supervision of the student, a financial contribution to the project and relevant industrial placement(s) during the four years of the project.

Key dates

  • The deadline for applications is midnight 21st August 2015
  • Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications by 30th October 2015
  • The student can start anytime in the 2016/17 academic year
