KTN's online platform helps you to make the connections you need


The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has refreshed its online platform to intelligently connect you to relevant events, funding, thought pieces and specialist staff to help your business innovate and grow.

You can discover content using your area of interest, from biotechnology to transport; from space to health – all major UK economic sectors are covered. Once you have selected your interests, using our intelligent tagging system, we will then display rich and relevant content related to your area, often from surprising sources.

An example might be new satellite technology from the space sector that is applicable in the agri-food sector. KTN-UK.co.uk will help you form these unusual and valuable connections.

All content on the platform has been carefully curated by our team of innovation specialists – not by an automated algorithm – so you can be confident that KTN is connecting you to the most relevant cutting-edge information.


The move also marks a closer alignment with our main funder, Innovate UK , with the website branding making a clear visual link. Knowledge Transfer Network is Innovate UK's innovation network partner, and also works with other funders to provide innovation networking services and fulfil our mission to drive UK growth.

Funding for Mexico-UK Industrial R&D Collaborations

Would you like to find out more about funding for collaborative research and development projects to stimulate innovation across three sectors that underpin future Mexican socio-economic growth?

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), on behalf of Innovate UK and CONACyT-Mexico, is organising a partnering webinar, a visit to Mexico, and providing an online partnering tool to help UK and Mexican participants to develop collaborative partnerships and apply for funding.


About the Funding

Innovate UK and CONACyT - Mexico have launched the £6M “Mexico-UK Newton Fund Collaborative Industrial R&D Competition” to foster partnerships between Mexico and the UK for the joint research and development of innovative products, processes or services that meet critical challenges existing in Mexico. It is expected that the results of the projects have a high socio-economic impact in Mexico within 1-2 years.

The competition will support the following sectors:

  • Energy
  • Health
  • Agri-tech

To help UK and Mexican participants interested in this competition to meet and develop collaborative partnerships KTN, on behalf of Innovate UK and CONACyT-Mexico, is organising a partnering webinar on 28 Sep 2015 from 15.00 – 17.00 UK time (09.00 - 11.00 Mexico time).

Apply to pitch your project ideas or technology offerings: 

Participants will have the opportunity to pitch their project ideas or technology offerings during the webinar to help find partners. If you want to do a 3 minutes pitch, please indicate this on your registration form and use our two-slide presentation template.

Online Partnering Tool

To further support online brokerage and consortia building for this call, the KTN has set up Meeting Mojo Mexico–UK Newton Fund online partnering platform.
This partnering tool works as a database where parties interested in finding partners can upload a non-confidential summary of their proposed project/idea. Once you have registered you can access this database and contact potential registered partners using the button “Send Message” that can be found in each individual profile.

Visit to Mexico, 22nd-27th November 2015

To help UK and Mexican participants interested in this competition to meet and develop collaborative partnerships KTN, on behalf of Innovate UK and CONACyT, is organising a visit for UK stakeholders to Mexico on 22-27 Nov 2015, inclusive of travel time.

The visit will include networking and partnering events, R&D collaboration briefings specific to Mexico, meetings and visits to companies, research centres and government bodies in Mexico.
