EFIB is almost upon us and as you haven’t yet booked your ticket, here are the top reasons why you should be there, whether you have attended before or not. KTN members are able to access a 15% discount on registration using the code EFIB16KTN.
1. Excellent keynotes and plenary panels
A great variety of keynotes are on offer, from inspiration around how to gain consumer support to transform and grow business from activist Paul Gilding to a local industry story of how Celtic Renewables has successfully crossed the dreaded ‘valley of death’.
In the first EFIB panel, the likes of DG GROW, The Ellen MacArthur Foundation and ecover/method look into the steps necessary for the bioeconomy to really shine as an enabler of the circular economy.
Then comes the brand panel; this is a prime opportunity to get inside the heads IKEA, P&G, Unilever, Vegware and PSA Group to see how your business can better serve those on the frontline of gaining public buy-in for our sector.
2. In-depth focused tracks
There are several tracks at EFIB this year, meaning even better prospects to build the event around your focus areas. Stay in for a whole track, or move between the rooms depending on what you want to hear about. To give a taster:
You can attend a whole afternoon on the key areas of feedstocks, delving into cellulose, sugar and waste specifically as well as discussing the future more generally.
Investment is always important and you can hear about the latest BBI JU funding successes as well as finding out about future focuses of the funding.
Explore the bioeconomy focused initiatives that are active at both a national and regional level and find out what future plans are.
…and that’s not even all of it; download the latest programme to view the full set of tracks here.
3. First ever PitchFest
This new and exciting format will allow you to see some really innovative start-ups get into the meat of what they are working on whilst trying to charm a panel of investors. There is no guarantee that money will be invested, but the presenters will give their best effort to gain interest, promising that you will find out key details about these interesting new products and processes, as well as seeing what the investors react positively to.
4. Fantastic networking enhanced by new app
Networking and arranging meetings has always been a key part of EFIB, and this year we are making it even easier. Using the new app you can browse the attendee list and make contact with anyone before the event. You can also use the Meeting Mojo tool to put together a schedule of meetings in the specially designed Partnership Zone to make sure you get the most out of your time outside the conference room.
5. Sold-out exhibition hall
The EFIB team have done a great job this year, and brought together a really strong variety of exhibitors from throughout Europe. Walk the EFIB marketplace to find out about new products and services in the bio-based space; build the partnerships and do the deals needed to drive your business forward.
There is so much more going on at EFIB that can’t fit into 5 reasons, but you can see the details at www.efibforum.com.
We do hope you will join the KTN team at EFIB by registering your place here, as we are genuinely excited about the 2016 event and would love to see you there in 2 weeks. While you are at EFIB don't forget to drop by the Industrial Biotechnology Leadership Forum (IBLF) stand, where KTN will be exhibiting together with BBSRC and Innovate UK.
