Technical and economic aspects of large scale seaweed cultivation in Europe, 9 June 2015, Brussles

The AT~SEA consortium is holding its final event on Tuesday 9th June 2015 tin Brussels, where they will welcome stakeholders in the area of seaweeds and related areas (i.e. small and large industries, academia, policy makers, investors, press, etc.). The AT~SEA project aims at the development of advanced technical textiles in order to demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of open sea cultivation of macroalgae (seaweed).

The title of this event is "Technical and economic aspects of large scale seaweed cultivation in Europe" and the speakers will include:

  • Philip Muyters, Flemish Minister for Innovation
  • Clara de la Torre, Director of Research and Innovation Directorate, DG Research & Innovation
  • Piet Bogaert, Cargill
  • Piers Hart, World Wildlife Foundation

Furthermore there will be presentations by the AT~SEA partners SIOEN, SAMS, Oceanfuel, Hortimare and Centexbel covering several aspects of seaweed cultivation using the patented and award winning advanced textiles as developed within the AT~SEA project.

The number of participants will be limited to 150 persons. The cost has been limited to 50 EUR (for drinks and seaweed food during the day). To register please go to the link
