New call for up to 6 Algal Bioenergy SPARK Awards

Do you have a bright idea for a new collaborative project?

Are you part of a small or medium sized enterprise (SME) or University/Research Institute?

The Algal Bioenergy Special Interest Group (AB SIG), through the Knowledge Transfer Network, is pleased to announce that 6 Algal SPARK Awards are now live and able to accept applications.  The SPARK Awards are being funded as a means to encourage new collaborations between the research community and industry.

Grant funding for these awards has been provided by NERC.

How it works

  • The grants, which are of a fixed value of £5,000 (plus any applicable VAT), are awarded to the research partner to tackle a problem relevant to the SME.

  • Projects must be in the area of Algal Biotechnology and Bioenergy and focus on Ecosystem Services

  • The scheme is designed to provide quick approval with minimal bureaucracy.

How to apply

The application form is now online - submit your contact details and upload your case for support via our online application form. To find out more, including guidance on what to do, please go to the dedicated Algal SPARK Awards page.

The deadline for applications is Midnight Thursday 26th June 2014
