August 2014 Newsletter

Dear Member

Interest is building in the Industrial Biotechnology Showcase (11th-12th February 2015, QEII Conference Centre) and the deadline for abstract submission is now fast approaching so don't leave it too late and risk missing your chance to showcase your algal bioenergy technology at this major event.

There is also still time to apply for the NERC-supported IBLF Award for the most promising company utilising algae as a means of addressing current challenges facing humans.

Finally, the KTN, NERC and the Technology Strategy Board wish to thank Michele Stanley for her time, commitment and enthusiasm during her 3 years as Director of the Algal Bioenergy SIG. Her tenure ended on the 31st July 2014 and she will now focus on her projects at SAMS. From now on queries relating to the ABSIG should be directed to Michelle Carter.

Kind regards

The Algal Bioenergy SIG Team
