A three-day event with a mixture of academic and industry speakers in different themes relating to bioenergy, organised by UK Research Councils and the Technology Strategy Board.
The UK Research Councils and Technology Strategy Board are investing substantially in research and development into bioenergy, notable examples being the BBSRC Sustainable Bioenergy Centre (BSBEC) and the EPSRC SUPERGEN Bioenergy hub. This is achieving an international profile and making a significant contribution to the global energy debate.
This three day International Conference, to be held in Manchester from 11th to 13th March 2014, will bring together world class researchers in bioenergy, including academia, policy makers, industrialists and other related stakeholders. It will include plenary keynote speakers, subject-specific break-out sessions, workshops and poster presentations that will cover:
Biomass feedstocks for renewable energy generation including algae,
Biochemical and Thermochemical Conversion Technologies,
Cross-cutting themes (sustainability, social, and economic considerations, policy),
Industrial implementation and scale-up.
The conference will attract delegates working across the bioenergy sector with expertise in biological, natural and physical sciences, engineering,
mathematics, social, economic and policy disciplines.
Arrangements have been made to publish the best papers from the conference in a special edition of Biomass and Bioenergy.
