Have you say on future EU research on food security, agriculture, marine sector & bioeconomy

The European Commission is seeking views and opinions from SMEs on the strategy, scope, objectives, and expected impacts of the Horizon 2020 ‘Food Security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research and the bio economy’ Work Programme 2018-2020.

The aim of the programme is to secure sufficient supplies of safe, healthy and high quality food and other bio-based products, by developing productive, sustainable and resource-efficient primary production systems, fostering related ecosystem services and the recovery of biological diversity, alongside competitive and low-carbon supply, processing and marketing chains. The Commission claims this “will accelerate the transition to a sustainable European bio economy, bridging the gap between new technologies and their implementation".

  • Has your company applied for EU research funding in the past (e.g. under H2020, FP7, FP6?)
  • In your view, what urgent action is required under the Work Programme 2018-2020?
  • What do you feel are the most pressing marine challenges to be addressed through research and innovation in the next Work Programme?
