The Algal Bioenergy Special Interest Group (ABSIG) and PHYCONET (a BBSRC NIBB) invite you to attend a workshop on “Commercialising microalgae: Determining industry needs” on Tuesday 16th June 2015 in Birmingham.
The objective of the workshop is to build partnerships and consortia for current funding competitions.

Consortia Building Workshop
Microalgae have huge potential as small chemical factories and could provide great opportunities for UK industry. Several factors have been identified that are required to drive this industry in the UK (see A UK Roadmap for Algal Technologies, 2013), including knowledge exchange. This event is designed to seek input from industry, determine the molecules and/or functionality they require, then determine how microalgae can be used to achieve these goals.
Pitch Presentations - Extended deadline: 18th May
A limited number of pitch presentation slots are available for industry and senior academics to set out their expertise and/or challenges. Please send your 250-word maximum abstract and title (in WORD) to jean.phillips@ktn-uk.org for consideration. The deadline for abstract submission has been extended to Monday 18th May. You will be notified of acceptance on Friday 8th May.
