Growing a Seaweed Economy in East Anglia

Growing a Seaweed Economy in East Anglia

Kings Centre, Norwich, 27th March 2014, 9am Start

Norfolk County Council, The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) and the North Sea Marine Cluster would like to invite you to an event that hopes to explore the prospects of marine biomass farming off the coast of East Anglia. The day will cover a variety of issues that have emerged which are likely to underpin any successful outcomes linked to the practicalities of kelp farming in the North Sea. To kick-start discussions on the day we hope to explore:

* A vision for what an industry could look like in East Anglia
* The potential of the East of England
* The science behind kelp farming
* Funding Opportunities

We will also be holding a workshop in the afternoon session to help us put together a roadmap for marine biomass in the East of England which will be available to all participants free of charge, once completed. We will be distributing some further information to help frame the workshop nearer to the time.

We do hope you will attend, but as places are limited we would be grateful if you could confirm attendance as soon as possible. You can do this by providing the following information
