The Horizon 2020 SME Instrument, a commercialisation grant for small businesses with high-impact innovation projects. There are a few agri-food and industrial biotechnology-related calls open under the SME Instrument, including:

Since the SME Instrument’s launch in 2014, 18 Scottish SMEs have benefitted from over €13 million in grant funding and 125 days of business coaching support. The UK Treasury recently confirmed that it will underwrite payments of Horizon 2020 awards to UK beneficiaries while we are still a member of the EU, even when projects continue beyond the UK’s departure from the EU. Therefore, we are now looking for the next round of ambitions Scottish companies with the potential to become industry-leaders in their field who could benefit from this funding.
