Call for PhD project on sustainable feeds for finfish

Together with the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC), the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) s inviting funding applications for PhD projects which offer biotechnology solutions to the supply of sustainable feed ingredients. This will benefit both the aquaculture and industrial biotechnology sectors in Scotland.

Up to two thirds cash funding is available from SAIC and IBioIC for projects up to three years in length, with the remaining funding to come from the academic or industrial partner. Applications will be judged by way of competition.

Dr Corinne Critchlow-Watton, Research and Knowledge Exchange Manager at SAIC, said, “This PhD directly tackles an industry issue by introducing more sustainable practices and preparing the aquaculture industry for the future. This topic is one at the heart of our strategic focus.”
