Publication: Research Spotlight on AB-SIG

As interest in the potential use of algae as a feedstock for 3rd generation biofuels continues to increase, it is critical that any issues surrounding the environmental impacts of biofuels, bioenergy and commodity chemicals production are addressed prior to commercialization of products. The AB-SIG will help direct the UK’s excellent research base towards these important environmental challenges, whilst also informing industry of some key areas they need to address in commercialization projects in order to ensure a sustainable algal industry sector emerges in the coming decades.
